Community Funding

The VIP charges each participant $40.00 to attend the two hour class. These fees are used to support various substance abuse prevention programs and road safety equipment in Clatsop County. Some of the more recent grants are listed here.

The Council, a Program for Boys and Young Men

The grant funded ten-week prevention programs run by the Juvenile Dept. of Clatsop County at the Youngs Bay Detention Facility and at Lewis and Clark Elementary School.

Clatsop County Circuit Drug Courts Incentives

The grant allowed the Courts to establish a system of incentives/rewards to provide positive reinforcement to their successful participants.

Supportive Education for Children of Addicted Parents (SECAP)

The grant funded one year of counseling services to this often forgotten population.

Supportive Education for Children of Addicted Parents (SECAP)

A grant was used to purchase two camera systems for vehicles of the Seaside Police Dept. involved in crime investigations, including DUII. Another grant was used to purchase cell phones for the Oregon State Police vehicles. Funds were also expended for the Sheriff's Dept. to purchase road signs, a video camera, a projector for prevention talks as well as portable breathalyzers and recorders.
